National Institute for Advanced Technology

The National Institute for Advanced Technology (NIAT)
focuses upon electronic record system development. A major program initiative ($26M), supported by the National Nuclear Systems Administration and the US Department of Energy involves the development of an e-records system for occupational medicine, industrial hygiene and radiation exposure data.

This system allows conversion of historical records based in paper, microfilm and other physical media, to indexed, searchable, electronic formats.
