Bio» Donald Ikhtiari
Donald is the Executive Director of Information Security for MGM MIRAGE and is responsible for the Data Security, Technology Compliance, and Network Security (access control) teams.
Donald joined Mirage Resorts, Inc. in 1998 as a Senior Systems Engineer and was a key contributor in the opening of the Bellagio and Beau Rivage properties in 1998 and 1999 respectively. Later, as the Director of Systems Engineering for MGM MIRAGE, Donald was responsible for the Windows and mid-range infrastructure strategy and design at MGM MIRAGE, including Active Directory, Citrix, DNS, and Enterprise-wide system software.
Previous experience includes seven years working for Safetran Systems in R&D, performing software development and pioneering the IT department in the IT Manager role. Prior to that, he spent two years working for McDonnell Douglas in Flight Test, including participation in the FAA certification of the MD-11, MD-80, and C-17 aircraft. Donald earned his M.B.A from the University of Nevada Las Vegas (UNLV) in 2005 and his Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Southern Illinois University in 1989. His technical certification titles include Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer + Internet (MCSE+I) and Citrix Certified Administrator (CCA). Donald is a strong advocate of security and technology from both a personal and professional standpoint and maintains involvement in controlled Beta testing and early adoption of new products and technologies.
Donald is a southern California native and moved to Henderson, NV in 1998. He has been happily married for 15 years and enjoys spending time with his wife and two children.
